Ingredients
3/4 lb. ground beef
1 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. chopped green pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
16 oz. can diced tomatoes
16 oz. can dark kidney beans, drained
8 oz. tomato sauce
2-3 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. dry basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions
Cook ground beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic until meat is browned. Drain any fat. Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil, salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer 30 to 45 minutes. May add additional tomato sauce (optional).
