Gingersnaps

Ingredients

3/4 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
1 egg
1/4 C. dark molasses
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
Sugar

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Blend in molasses. Add flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Form into small balls, dip top into sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch closely. Makes approximately 36 cookies.
